Making Breast Feeding More Convenient

By : Art Gib

Breast milk is the best source of nutrition for your baby. In addition to being more affordable than buying enriched milk formula, breast milk is also easier for babies to digest. It is so full of nutrients that some doctors even recommend providing breast milk to children for several years. On the other hand, breast feeding can take up half your day if you don't know a few tricks.

The first trick is to use a breast pump to harvest breast milk at your convenience. This device can relieve pain from built up milk and let you store milk ahead of time. Using a breast pump might even be a necessity if a baby is too weak to suck properly or if the mother has a skin condition that makes nursing painful. In addition to making milk extraction easier on both the mother and child, breast pumps make it possible for more people to help feed the baby. After all, anyone can hold a bottle. This means the mother can get a break every now and then and other family members can have more bonding opportunities with a new arrival.

The second trick to making breast feeding convenient is to use hands free breast pump bras. Hands free breast pump bras increase your freedom even more than using a pump alone because they give back the use of your hands. With the right tools you can type, make calls, write, cook, play with your baby and a hundred other things. Without a bra to hold your pump in place, you would have to keep the pump in place yourself and double tasking would be a lot harder.

Since babies eat as many as eight times a day when they are young, you will probably get plenty of use out of the bra making its one-time purchase a good investment. Because you will be wearing it so much, it should also be comfortable. Cotton is usually a good choice for comfortable and sturdy material. In addition to being comfortable, a bra that you use so much should also be designed for convenience. In other words, it needs to be really easy to get on and off of your body. For example, a zipper in the front can be more convenient than hooks in the back and strapless bras can be easier to get on and off than others.

If you can find a hand free breast pump bra that is comfortable and convenient, it will definitely be worth the investment.
