Baby Car Seats Are Mandatory Morally And Legally

By : Detro Canaro

In the western world it really is not cool to go without a baby car seat. The life you could save is the baby you love and there is no excuse. If you don't have one, many hospitals will loan or rent you a car seat and if nothing else you can go to the local thrift shop and pick up a used one. If you eat you can afford a car seat.

Because it is really not an option to have a car seat for a baby we will move on to the need to understand what kinds of care seats there are available. You would think that this would be rather simple but you have several options to choose from.

Car seats are designed around the needs and size / weight of your child and as such you will have several for your child before they are too big for one. As the parent it is important that you understand this and that you make arrangements to have each size ready for your child as they mature.

At each stage of your childs physical development you will need to make sure that you have the proper seat for them to ride in because a seat that doesn't fit properly can cause harm and may injure your child. Buying the seat too large won't work either. This is not a pair of jeans that they can grow into. It is a safety device. Treat it as such for their sake.

As with many things in life there is more than one way to accomplish your goals. In this case the goal is to protect your child and there are actually a couple of ways to do that. One is to buy a seat that can be used and configured in a few ways so as to make the seat more useful for a longer period of time. Almost like a transformer if you will. The other is to go out a get a seat for each stage of development so there is a proper fit. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

Because we have discussed a few aspects of this topic, I hope you have taken this topic seriously on many levels. Obviously this is a safety issue foremost but it has become a legal issue in the United States and you can pay a heavy price for not properly securing your child. This one is not an issue you want to ignore. Be careful, think ahead and do everything you can to protect this one you love so much.
